Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current price per Square Foot of construction?
This is the hardest question to answer in our industry. There are plenty of variables that go into this answer such as: Foundation type, Garages or Carports, Patio square footage, number of bathrooms in the home, quality of finishes, and current price fluctuations. Please give us a call so that we can discuss your project in real time and get you the most accurate estimate.
Do you have construction plans that we can pick from?
We do not have an architect on staff to make necessary adjustments to old plans. However, we work closely with multiple Architects who have a wide variety of plans to fit your specific needs.
Do you have any available lots that we can pick from?
We generally have a few lots on hand that are available for our clients to choose from. Please give us a call at (504) 908-7412 and we can tell you about our current inventory.
How do I stay on budget during my project?
Making all of your selections during the planning phase of construction will greatly reduce the risk of going over budget on your home.
Can you supply me with certain allowances, if I am unable to make specific selections?
We can make an allowance budget for you, but without knowing what our customers wish for, it can be very difficult to assume that our selections will meet your needs. We do not recommended this, as this could be a cause of conflict. We encourage all of our customers to be involved in specific selections, so that we, as a team, can make your vision come to life.
How long does construction take?
On Average, construction can take anywhere from 8-12 months. The size of the home, weather, and availability of supplies can extend these times. Making all of the selections for your home during the planning phase of construction can greatly decrease total build time.
Do you have any homes that we can tour?
We are constantly turning over new homes, which means we almost always have a few homes for you to visit. Contact us and we can set up an appointment.
How do you ensure a quality home?
We have a long lasting relationship with most of our suppliers and installers. This helps dictate the standard of construction that is expected in a Forshag home. Nonetheless, we are on your job site multiple times a week, if not daily, making sure that every phase of construction is being done properly.
Who do you recommend for a bank loan?
We have multiple local banks and agents whom we recommend. Please give us a call and we can get you in touch with the right people.
When do we sign a construction contract with you?
When plans are finalized and the final estimate has been prepared, we then supply you with a construction contract.
How do I get my project approved from the permitting office?
We will navigate the permitting process for you. No need to worry!
